Last night I was just relaxing, playing through some of the songs in 'The Real Book' and right in the early pages is one of my all time favorites "All The Things You Are" ... I love it as a slow bossa ...
Also, 'Unchained Melody' is a pretty universal favorite.
One time, playing at a 'piano bar' in a nice Italian Restaurant, there was a young couple having dinner ... the guy asked me if I could play Unchained Melody, and when I said yes, he asked me to wait until he and his date came and sat at the piano bar ... When I played the song the couple appeared to be in deep conversation, until the young lady let out an "OH MY" as she was presented with a diamond engagement ring ... His popping the question while I was singing was pretty special ...
