Do you 'create' your own background files and play over them when performing?
Thnx

I am not sure if you mean, like I did in my rendition of "Little Boat" aka Barquito.
If is that, then, yes, I do, but not during my whole performance, I do use the styles at least 95% more or less, a few midi files I created and play over the melody or more.
Or, you could also have made your own styles (background)from sctratch and then perform with them too.

Rarely, anymore. Before discovering arranger keyboard (1997), I utilized backing tracks quite a bit. Now, I only use them when I want to step away from the keyboard and get out into the audience to peform a solo vocal number. The rest of the time I perform on my T2 in auto accomp arranger mode. For my song material & performance style, I find backing tracks overly predictable and confining, especially when the same backing track is used night after night. The avantage of live auto accomp arranger playing for me is it allows "me" to be the music conductor, not merely a slave, to the direction a given song is taken on a given night.

It's important to note though, that I'm in no way knocking the use of pre-sequenced backing tracks, as I acknowledge the value of that as well.
