What do you guys think about the pa realy!!!
Is it a pro KB or just a toy!!!
I like the styles & Drum samples but not the Arabiq Card(Its A joke)
Just listen to the sounds on a WK 8 se ...
I hate my self how could i be so stuped & change my WK to something alse!
Yamaha 9000 series can only sample 99 wav!So a great multi sampled Piano or other sample can take the whole ram mem!
Stil hard to find 64 mg rammem. To old chips!
I buyed 2100:- dollars to my pa but if i dont like the Pa can i get my money back!
I dont like any KB just now because no one offers the realy nice & heavy one that can sample & import!Best sound qality!Best seqenser!Best style edit!Flash & other things!
Why???
Like the pa 80, sample cards just 8 meg!
Try to sample a sax on just 8 meg!You can, but more samples is better!
So if you use al the 8 megs then you need a new sample card!NP just 200 dollars.Shiiiit!
I hate to say that but i dont thrust any one more on the KB side!
But i like al the friends here!La familia!!!
Bye!

Have you considered keyboards outside of the arranger department? If you like sampling, you might want to look at a Yamaha Motif, or Korg Triton "orginal and Studio versions"

If your serious about sampling many instruiments, even the Motif may let you down. You can install the SIMMs but you will still only get 64 mb to work with. Sampling is ok on the Motif but I find it easier to do and laid out more logically in a dedicated sampling device than on any workstaion I've tried. I use only software sampling devices, and I rarely use the sampling function at all in my Motif. 64 mb doesn't really go all that far either, especially if you start playing around with good piano samples. Fortunately, I like the piano sample inside of the Motif just fine and I don't often use other piano samples for my work.

AJ's right, Even though the Motif is a good board and has a decent sampler, you'll probably be better off using a software sampler.. A computer will give you much more room for samples, and editing them is MUCH easier on software..

If sampling is that important, why not an external sampler????? There are plenty of good akai samplers for sale on ebay.

Okey Guys!TNX but what i mean is a sampler in the KB.
4XEMPE!I like the styles on Yamaha but not the guitar(Spanish)Then i can sample the Zimmerman guitars and use the sampling to gether whit the styles!
On 9000pro you can sample but not stereo. Can I cheat whit the channels & Layers so i can use stereo samplings???
Like pan & So on & So on!!!
A scary qestion! Is there only space four 100 samples on 9000pro.
I mean a multi layered piano is more than 100 separate samplings!!!
I use the Pc to cut copy paste & edit Wav,s anyway.
TNX Bye!

asena,
I'm not sure they make a keyboard to fit your specifications. None of them are perfect and there will be give and take on each one. Decide what you can live with or without.

You can also make the song in ( or with ) the PA80 and then later assign the guitar part to a dedicated external sampler ( or a computer based software sampler ) via midi. I wouldn't be put off totally on any board for studio / home use strictly because of a few sounds, or the lack of sampling capabilities if it isn't a dedicated sampling machine.

Workstations, and arrangers in particular are manufactured more or less as all in one boards. Yes, some of them allow for sampling, and the sampling functions can be useful on them, but I have yet to see the arranger or workstation that has sampling capabilities that will match up to a good quality dedicated sampler, hardware OR software.

I just got one of these bad boys and, being a previous owner of a (earliest to latest) Yamaha PSR500 (YUCK), G800, g1000, Yamaha 9000pro, this keyboard takes the cake when it comes to live use. I dont think I have ever had such an easy time adapting to anyone keyboard as I have to this one. I play mostly music from the mediterranean, and for my purposes it suits me perfectly. IMHO, this is the best live arranger out there today.
