Anyone here uses soft synths? I have been using Kontakt for a while now and love it. I am planning to add an analog modeling soft synth or something with good arppegios. Any recommendations?

Harosha,
Check this out: http://www.synthzone.com/ubbs/Forum37/HTML/008201.html

OT: Just saw a used Roland A37 controller on sale. I'm tempted. That would be a good start toward a softsynth arranger. Can someone comment on the quality of the voices on this controller?

Hi,
I been using the last year more softsynth's .
The quality is superb like some stringorchestra sounds i load in halion-software sampler also good "steinway" piano
sounds with different layers and rodes and fender electric piano's. I think in the future we have more keyboards with no sounds and you can add the sounds in this keyboard you like from the software library.
That's the future !!!

Starkeeper, as you know I use the Roland A-37 controller keyboard. You can check the specs on the Roland web site. It has no voices. You can store 128 setups (program and control changes) to use with your softsynths. There are other midi controller keyboards which cost more and may be better:

Plus you could use any arranger keyboard or workstation as a controller keyboard.

I'm a BIG fan of Steinberg's Hypersonic virtual synth. It's a virtual workstation synth for those of you who aren't familiar with it.

I can't wait till virtuals are a common feature in hardware synths. I really think it's the way of the future!

I have recorded a demo of wonderful string-orchestra sounds on my webpage. It's done quick (only a few measures) take a look for the sound of this sampler sound it's a nice realistic sound for small stringensemble.

you will find this example on my "education" link on the webpage.
