Hi there,
just thought to let you know I have finished another home-made CD with the use of the Korg PA-50 and a rather basic Boss BR-8 digital recorder. Unfortunately the site I had is no longer in use therefore if any of you are interested in hearing some of the songs, just mail me and I will send you the song in MP3 format. the full contents run:
1. Wedding Day 2. Always 3. Streets of London 4. Lodi 5. I cannot give you my love 6.Maggie May 7. Till I gain control again 8. Reason to believe 9. Family tree 10. het is een nacht 11. Dadoodaron 12. If tomorrow never comes 13. Eve of destruction 14. If I were a carpenter 15. You'll never be the sun
16. Dance on.

All songs are covers of well-known popsongs.
my email is: johnsmies@zeelandnet.nl
for those of you who might be interested in the complete CD, you can have it for free if you are willing to chip in for postage !!
regards,
john

Thank you Tye.
on a more explanatory note: most of you who were interested in hearing some of my songs got these as mp3s and commented privately on their merits, if any. too bad I haven't got my own site anymore but there it is.
And the offer still stands ......that goes without saying.
Tye also commented that to his taste in most songs the vocals were a bit too upfront and he was right. the thing is I now have this Boss 8-track digital recorder and probably got carried away by it. The beauty of it is however that I spent last weekend re-mastering all these songs ,thus giving more prominence to the backing up part.( = Korg PA-50). Lovely bit off technology these little 8-tracks !!!!

regards,
john

Hi John

Thanx for sending the mp3's. My wife and I both enjoyed them. I think the sound was really quite good, you've got a nice singing voice, you did a good job recording them, good mix. The PA50 sounds really good, much better than I would have expected it to.

One other thing. You're Dutch aren't you? You have no accent which kind of suprized me.

Good job!

Best
Scott

John the CD sounds wonderful. Very realistic and the arrangements very imaginative and well done. Tasteful use of effects, great stereo positioning. The Korg shines and so does the player, singer, and producer!

Scott and Don,

you guys almost got me blushing but thanks anyway. I am glad though that I have managed to convey the potential of the (budget priced) Korg PA-50, which I still think is a tremendous instrument, and all the more so if you consider its price-tag !!
regards,
john

P.S. Scott, a long, long time ago I worked as an English teacher overhere in highschool. That might explain............
