Wow! I was just at Music123.com and they have a price drop on the PSR-740... Get this..., they're selling 740's brand new for only $599.99 Now I'm pissed! I few months ago I bought a PSR-550 from music123, and now I'm mad I didn't hold off... $599.99 is a steal for that keyboard. They're selling the 640's cheaper than the 640's..... I also noticed they have the new Roland EM-55 and they also have the newer Yamaha's including the 2 new 76 and 88 key arrangers displayed at NAMM.

No surprise here. I remember looking at the PSR730 right before the 740 came out. I believe it was going for about $999 at the local music outlet. A couple of months later it was selling at the same store for about $ 600. Seems to be a trend. I remember the EM2000 and G1000 coming way down in price right before they were discontinued, and see that the Roland VA series is going the same route. I guess, if someone doesn't HAVE to have the latest and greatest, the time to strike is right at the time a model gets replaced. I'd have done well I think to have purchased the G1000 for $1199 brand new. I am a bit sorry now that I didn't.

WOW! That is cheap, but that is a lot of money still to my family and me. Even though it is cheap to the rest of the world, is sure isn't cheap to me.

If I had the money, I would buy that keyboard immediately!!! I just wish I had that money...

But thanks for letting us know about that discount, that is a vey good deal for a keyboard.

How much can you spend? I may know of a smaller PSR (I think 540) that is pretty reasonable.

Don, I'm not sure how much I can spend on a keyboard since my family and I have no money. Please feel free to check out the new post to Uncle Dave by clicking on the URL, which I listed above. It will answer all your questions. Also, I know what the PSR540 is and, to tell you the truth, I was disappointed since it only has 32 notes of polyphony. That is why I was not that interested in that keyboard, but thank you for that advice anyway!
