I have just finished to record a new song: "You are the sunshine of my life", by Stevie Wonder. This song features, among the other things, a nice synth sound with portamento, so, even if you are not interested into what I do, this is a good occasion to know how this famous "portamento" sounds.
I would like to dedicate this song to our friend Clif Anderson. Why this song? Well, when Scott and I went to see Clif in San José we could see a whole wall of his house covered with pictures of his five sons and, while we where there, he showed us a video featuring one of his daughters playing his Karma, with all the pride of a loving father. So, from these things and also from what he told me later I got a definite feeling that his five kids are really the sunshine of Clif's life.

Andrea,
Very nice rendition of this tune. You got a much better grip of the reverb here to, that we talked about before.

I particularly like what you did with the embellishment on the sax, the little "licks and fills"
very nice,
Terry

Ei Amico.

You are playing the kb as well as Michael drives the Ferrari.
For me the better issue:The crescendo dynamic.

Brindamo tua musica!

Hello Andrea,
Very very nice. As Terry said the sax was indeed wonderful. I am begining to think you have at least seven fingers on each hand It is all I can do sometimes to keep a simple melody going!! It is in my head for sure but it gets stuck somewhere on the way to my fingers
I have to disagree with Chico tho' the way you played that sax was more like Montoya than Michael! A wild streak but very very stylish

Terry,
thank you for your compliments; coming from someone with your experience and talent, they are really appreciated!

Chico, you make me flush! Let's stay Michael Schumacher where he belongs; anyway, my favorite pilot (all time) was Ayrton Senna. The day he died I cried (I didn't think I was able to do that for a complete stranger...)

Tony, thank you; I know that you are a very sensitive musician. I am not at all gifted and sometimes I get sick with my own playing. Other moments, however, I feel like things start to flow from the inside and everything becomes easier; even my fingers seem to have a life of their own. If I could reproduce such moments at will...

Andrea

Andrea:
You are also a "hopeless" Romantic like I am.
There are a few of us still left. Keep doing what you are doing, it sounds great! I love Steve Wonder stuff.

Mario,
I am afraid you are right! I said "afraid" because "romanticism" doesn't seem to belong to this era.
Thank you, anyway, and I hope to make you a surprise soon...

Andrea,
What a beautiful job you did on this number. The sax work was great! The feelings really came through in your recording. I have yet to make anything happen with the portemento feature. You obviously have mastered it. My attempts have sounded more like "porno-mento."

Keep up the great work. You just keep getting better and better with each recording.

Andrea.

You must look for "Jobiniando", the last Ivan Lins CD that is a tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim.
Extraordinary performance.

I compared you with Michael, because both always wins...
Senna is "ors concours".

Paul,
it's a pleasure to know that you liked my song. The "porno-mento" joke almost made me choke with laughters... :-D
I hope to post another song the next week; hope you will enjoy that too.

Chico, I will check for the Ivan Lins record as soon as I can; thanks! Hope to post something by "the master" soon.
Andrea
