One of the reasons I purchase Yamaha keyboards is because the large user community and the customer support. Well, over at the http://www.arrangerworkstation.com/forums I complained about my music stand brackets constantly breaking.

Steve asked me to call him to discuss, but with our schedules we had trouble missing phone calls. However, he was tenacious in returning my call leaving messages at home, at work, with my kids, etc.

When we finally spoke, he was trying to determine the root cause of why these brackets are breaking. In particular how I am transporting the keyboard, if I'm using the music rack to support my copy of war & peace, etc.

The long and short of it is, he took the time to speak to me and although they can't send out free brackets, he is sending me new ones at a HUGE discount.

So credit goes where credit is due, and thanks Yamaha and Steve Demming for outstanding customer service!

If you don't disassemble the brackets that the music stand fits into when you transport your Tyros Al, you may be causing an inordinate amount of stress on the brackets during transport, especially if your carrying case lacks breathing room. Also, if you have kids in the house or possibly a big dog roaming around, one push on the music stand with an errant hand or 'paw' would be enough to crack the brackets.

Btw, I've put some pretty heavy notebooks with sheet music on my Tyros' music stand and I've yet to have any problem with the music stand brackets cracking or breaking thank goodness. Plus I always disassemble the brackets when transporting.

Best regards,
Mike
