Hi -- I'm sure this has been asked, but I can't find an answer:

How do you change the battery in a KORG T2? A music store wants $50, and I don't think I want to do that!

Thanks in advance...

Hi Joe. I needed to replace the battery in my T3 a while back and unfortunately while $50 does sound a little rude, it's probably worth it just for the sake of piece of mind. I've seen the inner guts to the T3 and I'd rather have someone trained to work on the units replace the batteries. At least then if something goes wrong you can go back to them to make it right. Are you able to load from disc any previous programs, if so you might want to load one up before taking the unit in for replacement. Good Luck

Check out the M1 links on the synthzone BBS.
I think the battery replacement is the same idea. I own a t-2ex. There is a lot of M-1 in the T-series keyboard hardware.

This might be a little late. So what did you do?

Hi -- and thanks to anyone who responded.

OK -- here's the deal. Replacing the battery took about 5 minutes. I took the bottom cover off the T2 and there the battery was, a $4 lithium battery fully accessible in a holder. So, definitely easy to change. Then I had to 'reload' the factory sounds. This was a little more complicated, but I found the original sounds on the KORG site in midi and SYS formats. I downloaded them, attached a MIDI cable to my computer, ran a librarian and BINGO!

Not too bad!

Joe.

Hey Joe,

Hell yea, Congatulations! Applause, applause, more applause. Thanks for the info.

Just a heads up to a fellow T-series user....all M-1 libraries load fine on the T-series. I've downloaded about 4000+ for free over the net.
