I am a new synth user who just got a used Korg X3. The Program mode seems to work fine. According to the manual, to select Combination mode you press the Combi button. After doing this I get no sounds when I press the keys. Am I skipping a step? Is there some Global setting that would affect only the Combination mode to, say, mute the sound, or separate the keyboard as a controller from the internal synth? Thanx, John

Make sure that the MIDI channels for the Combi are the same as the Global channel setting. This can be changed in Combi Edit mode. See page 41 of the manual. I hope that helps.
