I want to play midi files on the laptop and use the sounds from the keyboard. My computer doesn't have a midi out. It has USB outs. I ordered the Yamaha "to host" cable, but the 2100 doesn't have that capability. Is there a way to play a song on VanBasco and route it through a USB-to-Midi cable? Any suggestions? Thanks, DonM
You can use a standard USB A-B cable between your computer and the PSR-2100. First, install the USB driver from the CD that came with the PSR-2100, or get it from Yamaha's website. Then, go to Sounds and Audio Devices in the control panel, go to the Audio tab, and choose YAMAHA USB OUT 0-1 for MIDI music playback.

Got it!! It works great. I just popped the disk in, plugged in the 2100 by USB. The computer found the "new hardware" and installed it. Then I had to reset VanBasco to see the output, which appeared in the setup screen. Had to reset the file type to GM. And it works fine. Thanks Guys! DonM
