I don't know a lot about arrangers. I like workstations more like the Roland XP and such.
That being said, a friend of mine wants to buy a keyboard that has a lot of drumbeats programmed into it, with the ability to edit these beats. He wants it to be portable as well. I'm guessing maybe 61 keys. Something with decent sound canvas that isn't going to sound all square and cheesy. around $800.
A Yamaha PSR2000? I really don't know these arrangers very well. He wants actual line outs instead of just a headphone jack.

Are you sure he really wants/needs an arranger and not just a workstation like a Motif6 or Triton LE?

Would those boards be within his price range?

He wants something that anyone can basically play without a lot of experience. To be able to put out a good beat and a suitable accompaniment. Something he can utalize without being much of a musician, and that your basic keyboardist wouldn't find ultimately boring. Someone had a PSR250 in the studio today. I found it a boring keyboard, but he said something like that, but preferrably a little better sounding would meet his requirements.

This is a pretty common question around here. I suggest you look back a few months and you will find plenty of lively discussion about this topic.
