ive got the whole midi thing working now:
keyboard midi-> soundcard midi in
soundcard midi out-> x5dr midi in

but now the problem i have is when i want to make a stereo WAV from cubase
or cakewalk.......IS the only way to get the X5DR sounds recorded onto the
computer is through line in??? and the line out on the X5DR has two
ports: one for right and one for left. So I can record either the right
channel or the left. Any ideas how to get past this? What do you do
when you have a completed midi song and want to make it a wav? Thanks

If you want to record the aux-signals from your x5dr on your computer, you have to use line in on the soundcard. This terminal is probably a mini-stereo-jack, and the output on the module is probably double 1/4" jack. You need an Y-cable to get the stereo sounds. This cable turns the double output from the x5dr into one single plug; the stereo-jack.

If you want to make a midisong a wav, you could simply connect the cable I mentioned above and run the sequenser and the wav-recorder simultaneously.
