I have been all over the place re: synths and workstations (meaning, I've owned Korgs. Alesis, Yamaha, Sequential Circuits, and Roland). I recently traded in (up) from a Yamaha CS1x to the N5 and I coulod not be happier. My first Korg product was an X2 - it was wonderful. I got lured by all the other brands (still own Roland and Alesis) but I came back to Korg (in the form of an N%) and I am very pleased. I guess I forgot how much I really liked everything about Korgs. There is (in my humble opinion) no comparison between the CS1x and the N5 (for synths in that price range). Just wondering 1 thing. On the X2 there was a great combi called "Sax Heaven" - it's not on the N5 (despite the fact that many other X sounds are). Can that be sourced and downloaded into the N5?
Thanks and glad to be back in the Korg family. Rich

I don't know if the N series reads the X series but maybe you should go to synth zone home page and check out the N series sites. You can probably find it there. I have an X5DR and was able to download over 10,000 patches...of course, I only listened to about 100 and would only use 1 or 2 out of them, but my pt is, if you want to find korg patches, it's a great place to start.
