You will find the PSR-2000 Tutorial+ site a big help in learning how to use your new keyboard. Here is the URL to that site:
http://pages.prodigy.net/watersj/Yamaha2K/index.html

(a short-cut URL is: http://devoted.to/PSR2K )

I have just added a whole section on the Music Finder system. It provides a number of lessons on how to use the Music Finder (and how to get the correct song titles in it.)

As for the musical notation for the song, you are out of luck. When you play a MIDI file (the SONG option), you can see the music displayed. But the Music Finder system contains only information about a song title and the style (and tempo) suggested for that song. There is NO information about the actual song itself.

I am planning on adding a section on "fake books" to the Tutorial site. Some Fake books will have the music for 1,000 or more songs. They provide the melody line, the chord, and the lyrics -- all you need to play the song on an arranger keyboard. Hopefully, I'll have that up sometime later this month.

Joe,
I think your site is awsome. I have been going through my fake books and adding each song I play to my Music Finder.

I have about 3000 songs in fake books. A slow process and I appreciate your site that has a "new and improved" Music Finder.

Thanks,
- Brian

I think the last time I checked, my song list was up to 10,000 songs. However, you'd be amazed at how many songs one comes across that aren't in ANY of the fake books! If you, or anyone else, has an "expanded" MF database with additional songs, I'd appreciate it if you could send it to me. I can then include them in a larger master list. Alternatively, I may make a number of smaller subsets that user can choose to "append" to their list or not. Before I finish that list, however, I am right now working on adding page(s) that show, and provide links to, many of the popular fake books on the market. That, of course, would go hand-in-hand with a database that pointed to the songs from those fakebooks.
