#17292 - 06/27/00 07:50 PM X5DR Serial port connection: HELP!!!

I have had a X5DR for several years now. Recently I have completed a home studio and have bought a new computer in order to run the Cu-base program I will be using to record. The problem is that on my old computer I had enough midi ports to plug in the X5DR. Now I have only two ports avalible and have to connect the X5 by serial connection. I can not get the computer to recognize the serial port or the X5DR as a new Midi device. I did do a search of the archives here on this site and found an apparent answer to my problem. However, the response left out one important item and was a bit confusing to me. PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT!!! I know that the X5DR is a bit of 'older' tech, but I like it and would really like to be able to use it!

thanks...trespa

Trespa, you will need to install a Korg PC/IF Driver to get your X5 recognized via serial port. Try to find it out on trinityhaven.com. It must be there.
