Sorry about this off topic question. My restore system is not working. I checked for a virus and it's clean. I turned off the system restore, rebooted and turned it on again and it still doesn't work. Has anyone ever experienced this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I believe that once you turn off System Restore that wipes out all previous possible restore points. So starting it up again leaves you with nothing old to restore. Try setting a new restore point and see if that shows up for you. It's a feature (flaw) in System Restore that you don't learn about until it's too late.

Back when I had Windows ME, the System Restore seldom worked right. No problems with XP though.

It won't allow me to set restore points. The only bold date is the day that I'm looking at it and nothing else. I cleaned out my whole computer with Spybot, Ad-aware etc and it's still the same. I don't want to do a Repair Install of XP, so I may have to live with it.
