I'm having a problem with a EA-1, and a Dr. Groove/Boss. I have the thru set on the Dr. Groove, and the EA-1, and I'm using a Passport(Parrallel) connector for the midi ports. Now I get information (realtime midi) from the Dr. Groove, but nothing from the EA-1 when the output is hooked to "thru" on the EA-1. when I hook it to "out", I get nothing from the Dr. Goove, but I get the performance data from the EA-1. What am I doing wrong? Seems like the thru is screwed up... It does'nt output it's own information as well as the information from the previous device in the loop... Can anyone help?
Brian..

I have the EA-1 an the EA-1s output goes from
its MIDI out, not the thru.
The thru just passes whatever comes in,
without changing it.

What you might need is a Phil Rees midi merge
box, so you can have multiple outputs going
into one input. see http://www.philrees.co.uk available through roguemusic.com .. They
are fairly affordable... 100-220$ pretty much.

As far as the out vs. thru, I think that's
pretty normal, isn't it? My other synth
behaves the same way...
