I'll probably be working the New Jersey shore again this summer, and there are a bunch of East Coast members that are within driving distance from the beach .......
We've tried to arrange a "convention" of sorts before, but maybe a day trip to Jersey is possible. Waddaya think?
This could be THE year for an East Coast trek - visit Ground Zero, Philadelphia, Jersey shore, Washington DC,have Maryland Crabs, hit DanO's Guitar center - make it a road trip and stop in on all the guys that work the area.
Last year I was visited by 7 or 8 net-made friends .... maybe this year we can boost that number.

USA history all over the place - museums, memorials, theatres, sports arenas ...

Your mention of casinos leads me to believe you play Atlantic City, yes? Since moving from Philly area a hundred years ago, I have not been to AC... but have fond memories of hanging out at Bay Shore and Tony Marts just on the "Drinking Side of the Bridge" at Ocean City... and when I was first getting into the biz, working a hotel lounge in Wildwood. But, I also remember Wildwood was in the Philly local and even though I belonged to a Jersey local, I had to pay travel dues... bummer. BTW, I heard the Wildwood place got raided for renting girls upstairs, and it got shut down.

That's right where I work! It's actually Somers Point, NOT Ocean City (totally dry). I work the Crab Trap right on that circle where Tony Marts and Bay Shores USED to be. Times change, my friend.
Those two icons are long gone.

I've lived on the Jersey shore for over 28 years in a small community called Wayside next to West Long Branch. Your description of New Jersey is quite accurate and I thank you for telling the group about it; unfortunately, must americans still think New Jersey is synonymous with Secaucus and the Turnpike. I am elated to know you will be comming this summer and it will be great getting to know you in person. The "convention " idea sound great since many memebers can get to know and help each other. As musicians we can always learn from each other regardless of how much we know. I will be eagerly waiting for you to reveal your plans so we can all make it a reality. Let me know if I can be of any help.

Hey, why not make it a Jersey Shore Music Festival. Everyone is invited to my Dance Club 7-11pm Thurdays Nites down the Shore in Bricktown. Then from there travel south about 40 minutes to Ocean City to see Uncle Dave perform at the Crab Shack!! Now thats a Daily Double!!! And with Atlantic City just minutes away you can gamble at the Casinos, have Dinner, see a Great Stage show, and "Walk the Boards in Wildwood" also!

That won't work for me - I play in Trenton on Thursday! My summer schedule was Sun, Mon & Tuesday last year - hope it's the same this year. That leaves the rest of the week to work at home.
