Hi Everyone,
After reading the "posts & replys" to the "Tyros" and some folks having concerns about the KB not having "built-in speakers" I thought I could help by suggesting this alternative to "Yamaha" speakers and this might work well for those how need small "portable monitors" for other KB`s as well.
Here`s the link> http://www.hifi.com/store/category.cgi?category=port_spkr&item=c1md12ee&type=store
Take care

Hey Jedi,

Thanks for the link, I really liked what I read about the Model 12 Speaker system. I am interested to know how well they work.
Thanks for the tip...

I don't know if it's the speakers themselves that people are concerned about, or simply the fact that transporting, hooking up and generally dealing with external monitor speakers is the concern with the Tyros. I think a lot of people who own, say a PSR2000, are used to a built-in speaker system they don't give a second thought to. Then again, the majority of Tyros buyers likely won't be transporting it that much... after all, this is the next generation of a home instrument. This is why I was interested in seeing if Yamaha plans to make a special carry case for the Tyros since Yamaha has just released a new line of cases for their pro keyboards. If they don't make a carry case especially for the Tyros, it may be that Yamaha didn't really design the Tyros to be anything more than a rec room instrument.

Jedi,
Most of the reviews mention "home audio" and "living room" references when describing the Cambridge SoundWorks Model Twelve . Have you heard this unit, and do you think it can handle live music? That's quite different than CD music. No bass peaks or any loud surprises from comercial audio.
Anyone ever heard this stuff?

Hi Uncle Dave,
You bring up an excelent piont !!
If have heard these ,but only with a "CD" at a local store. They sound "full range" , but , your right about the "peaks and bottom end of "real music", I`m not sure if they could hold-up under the strain.
However they must be better than the speakers that are usualy found in "arranger KB`s". They do not have the "twinkling" highs that you might find with other speakers but do have a good "all-around" sound. I had thought theses might work as an "easy" carry for those needing a set of "monitors" while using somthing more substanial for there actual performance. To be honest I would not bring these "into battle" without good mains to perform with !!!
I hope this helps, take care !!
