I should have known that this would be to good to be true. Before I bought the DGX I was lead to believe that the UX16 USB interface would be all that is needed to connect a DGX to another keyboard with a midi-in connection or a MFC10 etc.

Anyway here's the scoop.

The UX16 USB interface will NOT convert the DGXs USB port to MIDI.

A big thank you to Steve Deming who took the time to email me and point this out.

So back to the drawing board.

Hi Floyd,
I think it may only work via a computer, I don't think there's anyway of connecting dgx 305/505 directly to another keyboard.

I midied my dgx305 via usb & my clp via serial cable to an old laptop/ running omb software.

Not sure where a pedal would fit in , though.
I think the earlier DGX's may have had proper midi ports.
