DNJ asked me to post these photos of the PAS used with a synth.

Cheers,

Yep, that was taken a little before my RISE to Synthzone fame.

It was a pleasure meeting Jimmy, his lovely wife, and their son at our Synthzone get together in San Jose last year. We certainly had a lot of fun playing music & jamming.

Jimmy, congratulations on your new PAS system. An impressive move up from the Logitech system you brought to the SZ jam. Jimmy, is that your 'Ketron Midjay' midied to your keyboard in the 2nd pic?

Scott,
Man you're really good in keeping files (about our pics)
Glad to hear from you.
Yes the small kb is midied to the MidJay & i had the Bose PAS for more than 6 months now & the MidJay for around 8 months.
Here's what I can say about the MidJay.
The MidJay can trim your gear effectively. In
fact that's the only one i'm using for my
performances though i'm not busy as most of you are as an OMB.
I eliminated my laptop recently as i get used in using the MJ for lyrics display also.
Navigation thru different modes of this machine is as easy as pushing it's own dedicated buttons (wave, effects, styles, midi fles, mp3).You can go to any mode while the previous mode is still playing. You can fade in/out between modes if you wish except the mp3 mode. I use registrations 99% for my arranger playing cuz it saves me a lot of setting time. There's so much you can do with this tiny device.
Voice effects is great but i'm not so impressed w/ the vocalizer/harmonizer (installed option) at this point. It's either on or off (4-part harmony). That's it. You cannot tweak it. They said the next O.S. will address that.

I'm a small lightweight person so my gear dictates to be very compact & lightweight too. Nothing should be more than 28 lbs. so MJ + small kb controller is the best combo. With the next O.S. i can drive MJ using guitar, that's what i hear.

Regards,
Jim

To all my SZ buddies,
My setup is bit more. I also carry a 15,000-song karaoke system (vcr-sized player) which i found very effective in injecting fun in parties cuz of audience participations. If not, all you will see is the MidJay, a small kb controller & a compact sound system like the Logitech Z2000 or a Fender Passport w/ a subwoofer or the Bose PAS for a larger venue.

Hi Jimmy, thanks for your reply. I think it's time we start thinking about organizing the "2nd West Coast Synth-Zone Arranger Keyboard Jam", perhaps holding it late January or early February 2006; AFTER the holidays & Winter NAMM are over. ANYONE interested? - Scott
