you managed to fix your problem ...if not you could also load the .sng file into an i3 or i2 and save it on a separate disk as a SMF1 file. Should work ... I've done it numerous times.
Here's how to do it
1) Get into the i3's disk mode
2) Load all song - select the .sng file you want to convert and load it into RAM.
3) Go to save as page and select Save SMF and give format 1 as the midi file format because this will retain all track information including tempo maps.
repeat the process until you've saved all the .sng files you want to save.
this will not make the SMF1 file GM compatible so I hope that you documented all your .sng files especially all those controller data and program change data.
