THIS WAS POSTED AT OUR PSR GROUPS ON 9/25:

I was browsing at Synthzone 10 days ago and noticed a post
mentioning a "Group" purchase of Tyros. I was told that

"Bob,
You found our secret.
Since 1996 we have the "Group purchase " with 12 Members.
The Kbds are sold with 10% discount and each member pays monthly,
1/12 of the special price.
The draw for delivery is made when the 12 people group is closed.
As group purchase administrator, I have some advantage to buy my Kbd
by dealer price.
Chico [in Brazil]"

It occurred to me that as we have 1,500+ members in our
PSR Songs Group, and 2,700+ members in our PSR Styles Group, it might
be possible to put together something to make a "Group Purchase" for
the new TYROS. Of course, not all members are going to be buying a
Tyros. But with this many potential members it is entirely possible
that we could form a sufficiently large buying group to obtain a
significant discount.

Here is what I propose:

First, let's discuss this. Let's keep the discussion at
PSR Styles so all the "conversation" is in one place.

Second, if people would like to participate I will gather
a list of people who would like to receive information about a group
purchase price. I would then find the best deal for our purchasing
group. The purchase would be done (thru me) directly to the seller
(e.g., you won't be sending me any money. The money will go to the
seller and the seller will send you the Tyros). As I am in the USA,
it may not be possible to obtain any significant out of USA deal for
members because of shipping costs (and any units sent from the USA
would lack an overseas warranty). Nevertheless, if significant
numbers of Group Members in Europe wanted to participate I would
attempt to do a "separate deal" for them to eliminate the "long
distance" shipping and allow a warranty.

Third, all this would take some time. If you wanted to
be the "first kid on the block" to own one of these, then this deal
probably wouldn't interest you. I would expect that it could be the
end of the year (presuming there is no "sold out" on these) before
you received your Tyros. All transactions would be done by CREDIT
CARD and EMAIL. The seller would be an ESTABLISHED seller, not
some "unknown entity".

Forth, for putting all this together I would take some
of the discount for myself; e.g., the price I would offer you would
not be the FULL discount I was offered by the seller. Actually, I
only view this as a way for me to get a "cheap Tyros" (ha, ha)
without too much trouble. Of course, if I didn't offer you a
substantially lower price than you could find on your own, you would
have no interest in participating in this. If I got the 10% discount
that Chico got, by way of example, this could represent approximately
a $250-$300 savings, which I believe is significant to most buyers.

Fifth, as you would be dealing with the seller directly
to make your purchase you could choose to order the Tyros alone,
or "bundle" it with speakers, a stand, etc.

Sixth, I have no idea whether I could make this work or
not. I would be willing to give it a go if sufficient interest is
shown by people who are going to be buying a Tyros. If nothing
happens of this effort I will have wasted my time at no cost to
anyone.

I would not "leave you hanging". I would either put this all
together, without undue delay, or notify you that I am unable to
obtain you a discount, to allow you to pursue your own individual
(non-group) purchase.

If you have read and understood this and are
interested in participating in purchasing a TYROS at a Group Discount
Price, please send an email to:

Bobshere@worldnet.att.net

I will send you an a reply email letting
you know your interest in participation has been received, and will
send you periodic updates on how all this is coming along.
Please do not send any email if you are "just curious". If you have
a genuine interest in buying a TYROS that is sufficient.

Yours,

Bob Gelman
