I will go first. Okay; I didn't get this under the tree but I bought them very recently and they would be considered a Christmas gift to myself. I am talking about better Main Out Cables for my Tyros. I purchased two 6.41m Performer 500 Monster Keyboard Instrument Cables. They are especially designed for achieving a Full Natural Sound with Analog or Digital Keyboards. I am very pleased with them so far. They have the gold plating and are a little thicker -better shielded- than my Studio Link 500 cables were. Btw, I am now using the Studio Link 500 cables in conjunction with my MSP5's which I have running from my Mackie 1202 VLZ PRO Mixer's "Control Room" Output (which until very recently I hadn't utilized).

I also ordered two Morel MDT Soft Dome Tweeters for my Pioneer HPM-100 speakers. The originals finally gave out (it seems they didn't like mic feedback ) -although since then I've virtually eliminated the chance of high mic feedback happening again. Famous last words, right?

Anyway I should be expecting the Tweeters around Jan. 2 due to the high postal volume peak during the holiday season.

All the other stuff is fluff and non-music related. Although I did get a music CD under the tree from my Nephew.

Who's next? What Gear related stuff did you guys "and gals" get under the tree this year? Hummmm????

Best regards,
Mike

Hi Mike, congratulations on the Xmas gifts to yourself. I assume you're hearing a noticeably cleaner sound with improved fidelity with these new fancy cables, right? Sounds like your setup is getting a deserved tweak with the tweeters.

I know I already mentioned my music related christmas gifts, but since you asked, I guess it's ok to brag (again).

Korg D1200mkII Digital Multi-track Workstation http://www.korg.com/gear/info.asp?A_PROD_NO=D1200MKII

KRK V8 Near Field Monitors w/
KRK S8 Subwoofer http://www.krksys.com/v3/vseries_v4.asp http://www.krksys.com/v3/sub_s8.asp

A real cool hi tech 'non music' related Christmas gift I got this year is:

Info Globe http://shopping.discovery.com/stores/ser...Id=53871&hp=HPA

This device displays 'floating' caller ID information with name & number as well as displays greeting information & calendar/holidy messages. It also acts as a real time clock. I put it on my Grand piano so I can know who's calling me from where ever I am in the room, or while I'm seated playing the piano. Both a practical as well as a fun novelty gift from my sis.

The best gift of all was the time spent with family & friends, eating, socializing, and singing Christmas carols around the piano, and celebrating the 'true' meaning of Christmas.

This year I got some DVDs and PS2 games.
Normally I'd get lots of stuff, but I have more gear then I need at this point.
My place looks like one giant studio.
Another reason for not buying much this year is - I'm saving money, so I can get a .com modular synth in April. I'll probably place it in my ...bathroom...

We spent all our money on the kids.
I got a cordless mouse for my laptop and two new U-joints for my van!
But it was a happy Christmas.

Well I didn't get anything musically, "BUT" I did get some thing
to carry all my junk around in.
I bought myself a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan 4 door, "WOW"
it works great for loading & unloading the gear.
No more bending over trying to get things in or out of the trunk,
no more fighting trying to get the 9000 Pro in or out of the back
seat with the door in the way. I love it, should of got one of these
years ago.

I tried the van out yesterday "Christmas Day" loaded it up with the
grandkids presents & took them over to there place for our Christmas
party
.
Granddaughter got a Yamaha keyboard with survival pack, & stand.
Oldest Grandson got a Guitar, amp, headphones & case,
Youngest Grandson got a large remote control truck.

Loaded it all in the van, & unloaded it at there house & didn't even
break into a sweat. Oh SOooooo simple it was.

The highlight of our day was a phone call from forum members all the way from Scotland to us in San Jose, California, of about 15 or more minutes duration. We were absolutely thrilled to have a third dimension added to these fine folks. It was really a joy to speak with them in person and learn more about them. Thank you to Paul and Annee. Congrats to them also on their recent wedding
PS they both play technics and she has to be one of the best vocalists.
Thanks for the call Paul and Annee
Best to all
