I've had the 9000 PRO for a little over a week now and have searched the owners manual and talked to a friend who has a PSR 9000. What I can't seem to find is a "hold" button or command. I found the "left hold" button but that only affects the sustaining background voice on the left side of the split point. The arranger keyboards that I'm used to have a dedicated "hold" button that when in the "off" position allow one to lift the left hand and have the drums continue without the bass and chords sounding. Then, if desired the fill buttons can be pressed to achieve a nice drum fill (with multiple presses sounding like a drum solo). On the 9000 Pro the fills always have something else happening along with the drums. The "break" button is no help as it goes for one measure only. I've tried the technique where you press three adjacent keys. But that silences everything.

DVJ, on my PSR-2000 if your in the fingering mode. You can press 3 ajoining keys while the style is playing & stop all the background but the drums! Your 9000pro may do that to I don't realy know. It's worth a try.

If your in a fingered mode other than single-finger or multi-finger, pressing 3 adjacent keys in the chord section stops everything but the drums.

calls one ACC or also Chord cancel

I've tried the three adjacent key method. It does not work. Yes, it will stop the bass and chords but this is no help when trying to play "stop" chords like in Tutti-Fruitti, Great Balls of Fire or Do Nothing 'Till You Hear From Me, etc. I need for the bass and chords to stop immediately when I lift my left hand off the chord I just played as My X1 does. My Roland G1000 also did that but it was a menu item rather than a button.

Does the 9000 Pro have a Sync-Stop button? If I understand you correctly, you want the entire autoaccompaniment (including drums) to stop when you release the left hand chord. I accomplish this on my PSR-8000 by activating sync-stop.

Yup, sync stop will work...but I got me a volume pedal and assigned it to the volume of the whole keyboard for such songs and found it easier...at least for me.

Whoops...beg your pardon... I assigned volume pedal to regulate Accomp and everything below the split, that way I could do a lick in the right hand if needed.

NO, I do not want the drums to stop. I want them to play on and on and then when I hit the fill buttons the drums seem to make a "drum solo" for as long as I keep hitting them. The three-key-adjacent method will allow this but I need for the "chord hold-off" to work without pressing other keys to do so. The arranger keyboards I've used including Rolands, Soltons and older Yamahas all have this feature. This is an old "tried and true" arranger keyboard feature that helps make them more "musical" and less "mechanical". In fact I've never heard of an arranger that is not capable of this. True, some of them do not have a dedicated button for it but somewhere in the operating system you can select "Hold On" or "Hold Off".

From what I understand, you could just turn off the Accomp. button. That stops everything except the drums and you can play both hands if you want. I do that sometimes.
