Re-9000Pro.Its difficult to know from your brief explanation what procedure you are going through ???
To make permanent alterations to a midi file you do so via (Left of screen).DIGITAL RECORDING. Middle button SONG.
You have to Load & Save Out to Floppy.
This is the only way to make permanent changes.

That is ok ill give it a try im trying to alter the instuments on the files and change some of the volumes and pans in step record when i have finished i press exit you get a page with (track, record, edit, setup, save/deleat.) that you have to move across with the next button but if you have played the song first in this page it wont move across untill you go back into step record and then come out of it again then it goes across. but from what you are saying im trying to edit wrongly so ill have a look at the site you gave me thanks for the advice ill let you know how i get on all the best Kev
