WS, I'M USING A AXON NGC-66. I'VE BEEN USING A ROLAND JV880, BUT I SAW & HEARD THE X5DR, SO I PICKED ONE UP. I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND THE GENERATORS (OCS, VGS, ETC). MY Phd. IN SYNTHOLOGY DIDN'T COME IN THE MAIL THIS WEEK, SO I GUESS I'M KINDA STUPID. ANY KNOWLEDGE YOU HAVE ON THE X5 WILL BE APPRECIATED.

I haven't used mine with a midi guitar so I'm not sure which settings you would need. If you go to www.synthzone.com you will see a list of different manufacturer's. Go to Korg and then scroll down to the X5 sites. They have alot a info on some (Korgy Park for one). They might be able to help. X5 Banks has alot of new banks ( I think around 30) so you can download thousands of new patches. If I come across any info I'll let you know.

Hey WS, I went into the synth zone, but found no info on the kind of stuff I needed, so I just started pushing buttons and changing parameters at will. Eventually, I ran across what I needed. It was the after touch pages. after I adjusted them, my pitch bend was perfect. I still don't have the decay like I want tho, like, I want some of the voices to hold until I let go of the string, instead of stopping on their own. Any suggestions?

I didn't see anything about "sustain" in the manual's index but maybe "damper pedal" is the same thing...I'm not sure. Check page 104 in the manual.

I think I found the answer on page 37...the VDA (amplifier). It shows a graph of a piano where the volume slopes downward to a fade when you hit a key. It also has a graph of an organ that is a straight line and then turns downwards 90 degrees and says something about how it will not change volume until you let up on the key.
