Hi Scott The 1270P's are used only as a monitor. As mentioned previously, the ability to set this small unit up with different angles is a great feature. With a 10 inch speaker, of course, its main use is midrange stuff, -but I use use it with my SD1/vocals for monitoring & think its just great. Our Irish group uses it for Vocal, Piano, Guitar, Violin, Flute and other than the usual problems of getting the correct mix at each of the three 1270P's, the 'group' just thinks the Fender units are OK.
