Has anyone else had this problem? Suddenly I could not receive or dump my SysEx patches anymore. I can put the X5DR into dump mode and then I can send and receive patches from my Mac. I used to be able to send patchs when the X5 was in any mode (like Combination). Now it won't respond and the sound editor never works anymore. All cables are good, the MIDI Receive lights light up a few times when I send a patch send command but I get the vague "Check MIDI cables and connections" Error message. Nothing changed. One day everything worked the next it didn't.

After I installed Mac OS 9.0.4 I checked the SoundEditor program and everything worked fine. I'm so sad. I'm gonna try and borrow another X5DR to see if it's my box.

Anyone esle have any ideas?

OK. I tried another X5DR and it worked fine. My box is defective! Anyone else experience this?
