Here's a site for really old songs from about the late 1800's to about 1920. Chords/Lyrics and original sheet music too! http://geocities.com/dferg5493/

Chuck,
Great site. I'm amazed at how many of these songs I know. We're talking music written over a century ago. All the great George M Cohan songs. Thanks folr sharing.

Looking at this site I was amazed at the number of songs we played with the band 'back in the day' ... I just never thought about when these songs may have been written ...
thnx Chuck ...

The response to this topic shows that in any musical era there are songs that just live on and a great many that are forgoten.
A lot of the music written today will be forgotten but those that touch the heart and mind will live on.
