A client keeps changing his mind for what song I should play while the Groom and the other men walk up the aisle during their wedding. (Yes, that wedding...)

We've kicked around several ideas...Stand By Me, Wondeful Tonight, etc. I'm not wild about singing any of those as a bunch of guys walk up to the front of the room...I'm leaning towards suggesting a generic light jazz background with no vocals since the bride has me singing away at every other possible chance.

I'd like to hear some suggestions from others what might be appropiate. I'll ony need about 30-45 seconds tops...he wants it to "get everyone in the wedding mood but something to fast or too slow..."

Thanks-

Bill in Dayton

You said the wedding was 'diffrent' right? Here are two songs that come to mind that I have used in the past for 'different' weddings....
- Longfellow Serenade
- Forrest Gump Theme
- Cant you feel the love tonight (E John)
- What a wonderful world (Candle lighting)
- Boy in the bubble (Paul Simon)
- Whiter Shade of Pale (used for bride proc)
Not traditional in any sense... I will be interested to learn what you selected!!! Good luck.

Man I'm glad I don't do weddings anymore!
Can't be of much help on this one Bill--too tough to call.

Good Luck,

Gary

Bill, I would suggest doing an instrumental of a lovely song like "Now and Forever" by richard marx. I downloaded the midi and play the melody using the sweet soprano and it is a heart stopper. It does sound very sweet.

How 'bout, 'Always and Forever' by Heatwave. A classic soul ballad that works nice in its original 6/8 or even sweeter as a jazz waltz. It's not a difficult song to sing if your clients insist on you singing it, that is if you don't get into the vocal gymnastics of the original at the end.
