I'm only just learning, but is it possible to load a cd of, say, old analog synth sounds into my MS2000? So this way it would sound like an old Moog or Buchla?? Does something like this exist? I'm still learning at this point, and i'd like to wipe the banks clean of all rave and house, trance etc------want to set mine up to sound like an old caveman analog! THANKS IN ADVANCE!

You'll need to do a bulk sysex dump from the MS2000 to your computer. If you have a sequencer installed already then that most probably has sysex receive capability built in. If not you will need to download a sysex dump utilitiy so you can receive the patch setup from your MS2000. I am assuming you have a MIDI connection on your computer ??

I can hook up MIDI, yes to the computer, although I don't understand why i'm going from the Korg TO the computer. Shouldn't it be from some device (computer, disc, etc,) TO the Korg?? Hmmm, could you explain more??

He means you need to back up your existing patches onto the computer first, to store them safely in case the new sounds don't work. That way at least you'll be able to restore some sounds that do work to your synth.

You should be able to do it with the same program you use to add the new sounds, so it won't be a big hassle anyway.

Better to be safe than sorry. Even if you hate the existing sounds, keep them as an emergency backup. Better to have some sounds than no sounds if the new ones fail for some reason.
