This is my first posting. Just received my Tryos and as suggested by some members on this forum I purchased the Altec Lansing 621 speakers. I only have sound in the subwoofer and one of the Satellite speakers. Here's how I connected the speakers. I purchased a audio cable from Radio Shack with a computer speaker plub on one end (to plug into the subwoofer) and (2) 1/4" plugs on the other end (plugs into "L/L+R and the "R" in the keyboard) The Satellite speakers are pluged into the "L and "R of the subwoofer. Thanks for you help.
Joe

Jaymar,
If you want to hook them up the way you are going about it....here's what the setup needs to be:

At the Tyros subwoofer, where the RCA jack plugs in, you will need to get a Y adaper the one end needs a male rca to plug into the Tyros sub....the remaining 2 ends need to be female rca's plug the one that comes out of the Tyros board into one end of the Y, then take the little Y adapter that came with the 621's and plug that into the other end of the Y, that will then go to the 1/8" stereo in of the 621 subwoofer.

Joe sent me a private email a couple days ago from which I gathered that he's not using the Yamaha speakers or the subwoofer, but wants to go directly from the Tyros line out to the AL's. Is that correct Joe? I did the same setup he described for my 9000 Pro and it works just fine. The cable he uses is a Y adapter ... 1/8" into the AL-621 sub and the 2 RCA into the keyboard line outs. Pretty straight-forward in my book. Why should that not work?

Evangelical,
Hmmm, I'm not sure about the back of the 9k anymore. The Tyros has (if one is going to try to use the subwoofer and satellites out) a din plug and a 1/4" from the board to the subwoofer, then there are to 1/4" outs L&R to the satellites.

So I was speaking of trying to use the existing setup to the speakers out and leaving the mains open. In my setup, my mains are going to my recorder and I do not want to have to keep plugging and unplugging things and is why I am using the Tyros speaker out setup.

Yes I didnot buy the yahama speakers and I'm trying to hook up the AL 621 speakers direct to the keyboard. If its a problem to hook up I will return the AL speakers and buy the yamaha speakers. Thanks for your help.

Joe,
If you want to use the main outs....then Evangelicals way will work, I just tried it.

Out of the L&R mains from the Tyros into the little Y adapter that came with the 621's> the green ended cable that came with the 621> the sub. The 621 satellites get plugged into the 621 subwoofer too.
