Go over to our Tyros 2 forum and read all the posts from the beginning when the Tyros 2 first arrived in November at my house and there are many links there and you can learn probably more then you wanted.
Click on: http://www.synthzone.com/cgi-bin/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&number=39&SUBMIT=Go
I could also put you on my tyros 2 email list if you want.
Best to you,
Bebop

If you don't mind stopping by the lab at my place, you can check ALL out together ... and make your mind up... just no pictures, please!
Just let me know.
PS: I got your email. Give me a couple of days.

Don't forget about those wonderful demos by Simon Williams down at the bottom of the web page.

I think you should get a Tyros 2, Donny. I'd be very interested in hearing what magic you could work with those SA voices.

Mike, I'm really considering it......it might be the right time .....if I could withstand Scott Yee's "I Told You So's"
Don't worry Gumba I'll let ya know "if it happens" for sure and send you some T2 MP3's too ok?

Your Bud...

Donny. What had me so baffled is that you'd spent so much "time and energy" actively promoting the Ketron Midjay as the best 'live stage' arranger keyboard solution out there above the competition, as well as telling me that I really should've purchased the Ketron Midjay instead of the T2, yet at the same time, emphasizing that it's one's keyboard chops, and entertainer skills that truly count most. That being the case, I'd expected your relatively new Midjay with 76 note Roland kb controller to more than satisfy your live performance needs for a long time to come.

Donny: Exactly what is it about your Midjay you're not completely satisfied with? What are you hoping to get from Tyros/Tyros2 that you're not getting from your Midjay setup now?

As I'm sure everyone here would predict, I continue to enjoy playing & recommend the Tyros2, but Donny, I wouldn't want YOU to purchase one, and then a month later, find something you don't like about it too. I really think you need to do some deep soul searching to find out the real reason you're suddenly wanting to switch keyboards now, because as you said yourself, no keyboard can cover for musicianship talent, chops, and entertainment skills, of which are only gained thru blood sweat & practice, and experience (or paying one's dues as they say). Just my thoughts from one pro musician buddy to another. Wishing you the best of luck in whatever you decide. - Scott

Scott please dont have any sleepless nights over my reasons & personal choices wih my gear, There are more important things to worry about in this world. As for the Midjay ......as I have said many times before the MJ is an awesome sounding Killer Module........it is a multi funtional, multi faceted piece of gear to accomlish many purposes in the performance of musical entertainment. As I also asaid many times it os not a full fledged arranger, it does however have many basic arranger functions but not enoiugh for me to perform at my full potential as Im used to...... I will always recomend it & tout is as such to anyones who asks.....it does a superb job in the right hands & in the right situations. As you well know I have been a Yamaha player for years in the past using many of their KBs on stage, I have also used many other brands too with much success.......again talent & experience makes it that way much of the time. Ive been playing arranger KB's since day one professionally, I have always switched, sold, traded, rebought the same model etc etc ....no big deal thats just me, bored? upgraded models? who knows when I feel the need I go for it.
TYROS 2 ? who knows maybe I'll pick one up and work with it, maybe I'll like it, maybe I'll dump it after a week? who knows?......decisions on gear take time in this business, you'll never know if you like it totaly unless you work with it. Scott you do your thing on stage & I do mine in a totaly different way there is no right or wrong....In the end its just either a Good Sound performance or Not!
Ive heard the T2 demos, seen the videos,& they do sound impressive......but will they make me happy for my needs on stage ?
I wont know unless I try it.....
hang in there Scotty me boy........
I'll surly keep you posted if & when I get a T2 this way we could brainstorm as Two pros should correct?

Yo Donny,
If indeed you get to AJ's lab, hopefully you'll compare several of the boards and give us your well respected opinion of the pluses and minuses of the instruments. I for one have a burning curiosity to hear how the Genesys boards square up with the rest of the market. Hopefully, AJ has a Genesys in his lab's arsenal.
Ciao,
Jerry

Craig.......Ive apologized for anything disbarraging that I have said in the past, I have dealt with Scott Yee publicly ,
I have explained my thoughts on the Midjay & its uses for my personal business, I have have viewed & listened to T2 Demos & hope to see more, I am a former Yamaha owner & Player so I know these units to a point.
I appreciate people discussing the pros/cons of these T2 units also hopefully we can all learn from it. I hope people that have left here will return & join the group also, every angle makes for a better conversation and learning experience not only on the T2 but in Arranger KB playing in general & beyond. So to everyone ....
