Hello,

To thanks the friends of Synthzone who helped me to find the name of this song , I made 4 different versions of this traditional.

Warning :
1.Sorry for my "poor Frenchie/English/cow-boy accent ....
2.Apologize to the creators/composers of this song...for changing...
3. If you listen, maybe it's better to follow the order of the cuts (you do what you want, naturally )

The first cut is the closest by the original version , I think . It's for Gunnar (it's not in Norvegian)

The second cut is more "dynamic" and I dedicate this to a "young fellow" from Louisiana, a certain Don Mason I hope to hear one day this version singing by him..

The third cut is made like a modern "rock Ballad" . The sound of the guitar is not too bad..for my taste. It's for you Andrea

Finally, for Donny (DNJ) a version more intimist ....

I'm curious to hear which version you prefer : all...or not any

For reminder : all is made with the Korg PA1X Pro , LIVE and without addition of effects or play-back. So you can better judge the value of the KB and/or the TC Harmonizer.
Enjoy,

Regards,
JJ http://users.skynet.be/daddyjj/songs.html

JJ......Oui, Oui, again you have done a wonderfull job showing off the Pax1pro.
You have shown many versions hre of a great old cowboy standard in so many versions. I enjoyd them all, great balance, harmony, guitar, piano, Sax really shine. You voice is almost Charles Boyerish to my ears clear and distinct in the mix...this KB...and the new 61 key speaker version from Korg is definitly a serious contender for sure..

Thanx for sharing

JJ, Bravo to your well conceived renditions. Great showcase on how one can turn a familiar song into something fresh & new by merely changing the song's groove and beat. Yours is truely Franco-American. Excellent recording qualtiy as well. Could you possibly share with us how you recorded it? Exactly which TC Helicon Vocal Processor model unit was utilized? In addition to the PA1XPro, what other equipment (microphone, etc) and/or software were used to record this? As usual, I always looking forward to hearing your music. - Scott

JJ, I can only echo what the others have said--a wonderful performance.
Did you use the MD8 for recording?

Donny,

Thanks for the kind words..Like I said before, a choice of an arranger is a question of personnal taste but , believe me, I think I have somme experience , this KB is one of the best I never heard (sounds, possibilities,...) Sure that the 61 keys will be a winner...IMHO

Scott,

Thanks also for the kind words ..I must say I prefer your "american accent" thats mine
To answer to your question, it's the first time that I did'nt use my faithful MD8 !
Yes Scott, I follow your choice and I bought a Korg D1600mkII..But I'm sure I'm not so far as you with the manner to use that beast
To preserve a maximum the reality of the sound of the PA1, I did'nt use (for the moment) any effects.. (I forgot my Voice Prism, and others reverb units ...just the Korg)
I played live the accompagniment (with bass inversion), sounds on the left hand, and a accompagniment/solo line on the right hand.My voice was keeping by a simple Shure SM 58 and linked in the inboard TC Helicon (preset 19 )If you want , Scott, I'll send you a mail for more details over this TC Helicon Then I play and record with the D1600.No more...Easy , no ..O yes , I forgot something..I come out in Digital to record directly to my MP3 recorder.

Don,

I loved the MD8 , easy to use, good results, but for me no tracks enough..
And, yes , I like to change and I prefer to change my recorder than my wife
Thanks a lot for the kind words , Don...
Best regards,
JJ

My sentiments also JJ! Very well done!! Thank you for sharing your songs with us and providing us a glimpse into the Korg Pa1X PRO's sound capability. I think recording through the Digital Out is a benefit that all Arranger Keyboards should have too.

Merci beaucoup JJ! Continuez-les venir!

Best regards,
Mike

JJ, the actual Korg recorder model I ended up going with was the D1600mkII's little brother, the D1200mkII because I needed the much smaller footprint and lightweight portability. Your D1600mkII has the advantage of 4 additional tracks. As far as the manner I use the recorder, I'm definitely a rank amateur beginner but looking forward to learning what it has to offer. I assume you already know about the terrific Korg Studios Forum dedicated to the D1600mkII as well as other Korg DAWs. If not, check it out here: http://www.korgstudios.com

That would be terrific. Please send. I just purchased the TC-Helicon 'Voiceworks' vocal processor so am anxious to find out exactly what I need to do on both the Tyros & Voiceworks tp configure it to work, with the Tyros triggering the chordal harmonies on the Voiceworks Vocal Processor unit via midi.

JJ, Impressive. Wow, I didn't realize the PA1xpro includes digital outputs for both your voice as well as the internal sounds on your KB as well. Can you possibly provide more details on this? Thanks. - Scott
