Hi all.

I'm looking for a decent sound setup for my Korg Triton. Right now I am borrowing a friends bass amp, and I need to get my own sound.

My Triton is in a fairly small room, and I only occasionaly play live, with the possibility of playing small venues in the future.

I was considering perhaps a PA setup, with the Yamaha SV15 4's. They are 15 inch woofers and a horn tweeter.

I was also considering a stand alone amp, Like say, a Roland kc-300.

With the Triton, I think Iwould prefer stereo.

Basically what I want is something that sounds full and clear, with decent bass.

I am considering the studio monitors, but it seems they can't handle the larger sounds as well as the PA's and amps can.

What do you reccommend for a decent sound setup for a Korg Triton? What do you have for your synth? Thanks!

I responded to your other missive before seeing this one, but in my opinion, Roland and Mackie gear tops the list. They offer little coloration to your sound and are roadworthy as all get out. For medium-sized venues, they're hard to beat.
Be mindful of the fact that you want CLARITY over simple raw volume. A well-balanced combo speaker can actually do a better job than a more watt-endowed setup when the frequency range is covered properly, so it reaches the crowd more effectively.
Distortion has its place, but sound reinforcement isn't it. You'll also find that you can get all the Korg has to offer at lower volumes when the speaker is efficient.
I have a pal who still uses an old Roland Cube and its cranking right along. I'm a bit biased in favor of gear that I know is TOUGH, so keep researching, but "roadworthiness" often translates into better equipment behavior across the board.
