Realizing that their are several Roland G70 owners (Fran, Diki, Stephenm52, Cassp, etc) on this forum, I'd really love to hear some G70 songs played & recorded utilizing live "auto accompaniment arranger mode". Any takers? Unfortunately, because I'm not a member of the Roland Users group (not currently a Roland arranger owner), not able access song posted there, so uploading to: Boxnet or YouSendit , preferable. Scott

Søren, many thanks for the links. Terrific Roland site. Throughly enjoyed Diki's superb arrangement and playing on "Can You See Clearly Now", "Friend of A Devil", and "Saving Tehra", and & can finally appreciate how much the G70 is an ideal tool for song production arrangement. Diki . . . Bravo! That said, because I suspect the principal reason most people buy arrangers vs Worksation/Synths is for it's one man style auto-accomp mode live performance feature, I'd still like like to hear how the Roland G70 sounds when performed in a live one man band 'auto accomp' mode style. Still hoping Synthzone member Roland G70 players will share your G70 songs produced this way, especially realizing that myself, and quite a few Synthzone member Tyros2 players have shared our 'arranger style' recorded music already. I'm of course excited to hear auto- accomp arranger mode music performed (by SZ members) on the Korg PA800 and Ketron SD1+ as well. It's one thing to simply talk, brag, & argue about our Keyboards, and another thing to actually hear fellow Synthzone members playing them, right? Originally posted by Dnj: When I had my G70 last year which I now no longer have... I recorded this Kenny Rogers slow country Waltz....I just picked a style, plugged in a Mic & started to play. When Scott called for a G70 demo with some piano I was able to dig it up.... here you go..I will duck now http://www.donnypesce.com/SomeFool.mp3 I am not going to comment on the playing or singing (all of which were fine ) but make a few quick comments about the sound... Firstly, the piano picked by Donny is NOT the GrandX TOTL piano in the G70. In fact, it's a poor one even by G1000 standards. There are a lot of 'holdover' sounds in the G70 to ensure compatibility with earlier sequences and styles, and it sounds like Donny picked one of those that pre-date even the G1000 (who's best piano A11 isn't even in the G70). Secondly, Donny had his G70 quite a while ago, before OS3 completely re-vamped the styles... But finally, and most troublingly, I can't find that style in my G70's ROM. Admittedly, I am now at OS3, but I don't remember any of the styles getting replaced wholesale, more just EQ and sound adjustments to them. This leads me to believe that the style Donny might be playing was an import. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I just played every waltz in the ROM (there aren't actually very many ) and I couldn't find that style. Now, if it IS an import (an older G1000 style or even earlier), unless you tweak it in the Makeup Tools, it will continue to address the old G1000 or even earlier sounds. Which is what, IMO, it is still doing. Once again, forgive me if I'm wrong, Donny, but every single sound in that demo sounded Sound Canvas... And, if I AM wrong, and it IS a ROM style, trust me... they have changed them SO much, I can't even recognize that style! But, to my ears, that sounds a LOT more like a G800 or so than a G70. Not the best piano, not the best drums, not the best anything, honestly. Once again, I repeat... I am making NO comment whatsoever about the playing OR the singing... simply about whether this is representative of the SOUND of the G70.
