searching the sites for headphones,i was surprised to find hundreds on the market,so for those that use them on their keyboards,which do you recomend,mike

I highly recommend the Sennheiser HD280 Professional headphones. They ran something like $100 a couple of years ago.

I used them with my Petosa Millennium Ketron XD9 system and they were incredible. Then I used them with my Technics digital piano and I about died! I had been using cheapo Sony headphones for a couple years with my digital piano and the difference between the two sets was absolutely phenomenal.

I highly recommend them if they are still out there (mine are a couple years old).

I use Sennheiser HD565 Ovation, not cheap but an excellent sound and comfort.
I also use a Philips SBC HP840, a lot cheaper but also a good sound but less comfort.
Beyerdynamic produce also real good headphones.
But all is a matter of personal taste so don't buy a headphone without listening.
Try to listen for more than 10 minutes,so you have an impression about the comfort.
It's also important that you can replace the cable (wire).

I use Sennheiser HD270. Expensive, but should last a very long time. They have the benefit of all the parts are replaceable should repair be required...even the lead is a plug in replacement.

This is my first posting for this forum, although I have been surfing this informative and interesting website since mid July 2004.I just want to ask what model of Sennheiser headphone that is best suited for Yamaha PSR 3000 to play for long hours? I am planning to purchase it as soon as I can find a local dealer here. Currently I am still using an old Yamaha Dynamic Stereophones YHE-5 when I play late at night. Thanks in advance for any reply.

Checkout Audio Technica M40. I use Audio Technica D40 and they sound really good.

I have a PSR3000 and I always play with headphones. I use a Sennheiser HD265 and it sounds nicer than with the speakers. But I am glad I have speakers, because when it is very hot in the summer headphones are not very pleasant.
There are two types of headphones: an open system and a closed system. With a closed system others can not hear much of what comes out of your headphones. An open system doesn't close around you ears, so others can hear noise coming from you headphones. You might notice that high end headphones are open systems.
Also in the summer in hot places an open system will not give you red ears.

The HD265 is a closed system, so not highend, but good enough and I also use that type at work. What I like about it, is the cable. Problem occur always on the cableconnections. You can just unplug the cable and attach a new one. Most people at work have used the same set day in day out for 4 years now. But every year I buy replacement cables. They are not very cheap, but if the cable goes, you don't have to buy a new set.

Thanks for the advice on Sennheiser HD 265 Closed Headphone. I'll try to buy it once I'll find enough free time to go to any local dealers selling such an equipment. I prefer to use a closed type headphone considering the fact I usually play at night just to relax myself after a hard day's work. I may consider buying an extra cable as well. Perhaps I can get further discount.
