Hy everybody!

Me again, just back from vacation...Last time I had problems with usb connection between Tyros and Pc and the problem isn,t solved yet...Now I have a new problem, even more serious one. While I was installing new OS update for Tyros (via flopy disks(usb doesnt work!))an error apeared (while installing disk nr. 14). I repeated the procedure once more (with a new download of disk nr. 14) but the error striked again. I followed the instructions in every detail! Now I'm not able to use my Tyros in any way- on the screen always appears ''program error'' followed by ''install mode''. I'm desperate. Does anyone have any idea what went wrong? I would sure be grateful for any kind of help!!

David,
I heard a rumor that the data on disc 14 may be corrupt. Call Yammy support tomorrow to get re started.

David,
there's a serious problem with the OS upgrade via floppy. All users report the same error with disk 14. (I got this from the German forum).
If your USB is o.k. then you should use the USB update.
Don't know what your problem is with USB but I heard that the XP drivers do not work correctly. Win 98 (SE) is o.k.
There seems to be an updated driver for Win XP but not sure if that helps.
If you know somebody with Win 98 then use this way.
However, if your USB is broken (several reports here as well) you're out of luck.

David,

I know this wont help you will OS 1.2, but why don't you re-install the OS 1.1 from disk to restore the Operating system and get you backup up!!!!

Just a thought

I'm using XP and have had no problems at all with the USB, either upgrades or just using the utilities.

Hy again!

Thanks Terry and all of you for trying to help me in this situation!I hope that yamaha will solve the problem so that we will be able to reinstal the new 1.20 OS...
The idea of reinstalling the first OS on Tyros isnt bad but the problem is that my USB doesnt recognise the Tyros since installing OS 1.10 (I have now win 98,had also win xp,tried on win me 2000...)... The OS 1.10 cannot be installed via floppy disks!
Complicated, ha ?
I guess I'll just have to wait for yamaha to come up with a solution to the ''disk nr.14''situation. Can I relay on you guys for further help, if any ideas or news occure to you? Thanks!
Ps: I'm still optimistic about my USB comming back to life. Deeply hope it isn't broken !

The problem is fixed. Download the update again (the whole thing, not just disk 14), and everything should be fine.
