When your RAM backup battery needs replacing, you do not need to take your M3R in for service. It uses a lithium watch battery that can be purchased for about $3.00 at any drug store. Pop the old one out and the new one in.

I dont own M3r, but I can tell you that in most cases its so you dont loose your internal sound programs. If you have a way to save and reload your sounds then you can change the battery. You could probably save the sounds into any computer program that supports sysex.
