Alot of the Home keyboards I see are just basicly the portablemodels put inside a wooden cabinet with a few differences, keys, bigger speakers and a bigger price tag!

mike, if you are talking about the Clavinovas, etc., they are VERY good sounding. They cost a fortune from what I've heard but if you can afford it and don't want portability then many of the Home Keyboards (Digital Pianos) are excellent in sound quality and features. The CVP 209/210 are a good example.

hi ,i was at a friends house today,he has an old technics home keyboard with two layered keys, the swell pedal made a big difference to the quality of sound that came out of this old instrument,maybe i should get a swell pedal for my psr 2000,mike
