Even the PSR-550 has a simple OS glitch!

As basic as the OS is in the PSR-550, it too has a glitch. This has happened to me only twice, but only when I really give the keyboard a good workout. If you push it, the board will play the sounds as if there is an arppegiator on the keyboard. It's actually quite funny. It has only happened twice to me, but that was when I left the board on for long periods of time (not being used) and then giving it a good workout after it has been left on.

Hi Don, it's funny you made that joke, because on some older Technics models this was possible. Technics had often put the same chips in the lower models as the medium models. With a certain combination of buttons and keys pushed, you could call up sounds that weren't supposed to be on that particular model. Once you had the sound, you could then save it in reg. memory to call it up at any time. Pretty cool feature. We found that out by accident one day and were able to reproduce it on all models (I was working in a KB store for Technics at the time). Eric, That's an interesting glitch on the Technics... I'm curious why this particular glitch is on the 550. The PSR-540,550,640,740,1000, and 2000 don't have arppegiators....?? It's an interesting little bug. I wonder if there is some common chips that the PSR-550 shares with the DJX...??? Some of the styles on the 550 were taken from the DJX... This I do know..
