Funnily enough I just measured the keys on my grand piano and my two PSRs (740 and 220)for another post. Five octaves on the piano is 33 inches and on the PSRs 32 1/2 inches. I can't tell the difference. Maybe others can measure their keyboards, but I suspect that all the Yamahas will be the same.

Hi,
just measured the keys on my KN7000, VA7 & 9000 pro, and they're all the same size. Actually the 9000 pro feels great.
(Sorry can't comment on the psr 2000 as I don't own one.)
best wishes

Do you remember what the span was for 5 octaves? The PSR 2000 is 32 & 7/16"

Thanks

The PSR's do have a smaller key as compared to true full sized keys. Maybe it's the keyboard makers way of saving money on plastic. When I was in college I would often visit our music departments "piano teaching lab" It housed a really nice CVP, and numerous smaller Yamaha digitals. After playing on them I'd go back to my dorm room and play my PSR, and geez how cramped I felt.. The keys are smaller, but you get used to them. If you're going to be moving between a digital and a PSR often, you'll notice the differnce.

Hi,
I'm glad you got me to measure the whole 5 octaves, as measuring the individual keys was deceptive. Over the 5 octaves I ended up with 32 9/16" on the 9000 pro, and the 33 1/2 that ( that Fran did ) on the VA7 & KN7.
Individually , I still come up with approx 7/8th's" per key. Could the spacing between the keys actually cause the difference ?

best wishes

Well this has been an eye opener. The reason I asked about the PSR 9000 is that I'll be getting rid of the PSR 2000 soon and was thinking of getting the 9000 pro. (used ) I've been playing my Kurz K2600 and Psr 2000 and going back & forth. My accuracy is better on the K2600. Duh !!!! I just measured the K2600 thinking it was wider then the PSr 2000 - Nix - same size. I also have a Yamaha US-1 which I can play better on then either the Kurz or PSR and guess what? Same Key size - Now I know I've gotta be ready for the Phych ward. LOL

32 1/2

Thanks for the everyone.
