I was once asked what I would choose: being taught by a keyboard or an organ virtuoso for one year or be given the top model of a keyboard or an organ for free.
My choice would definitely be to gain more skill and knowledge. Rather be a pro at a smaller instrument than a clutz at a top model. And playing and sounding like a pro will eventually help in the purchase of the model of my dreams.
Happy Playing

Which one? I think that the right decision is obvious, but if anyone is feeling tempted by the free instrument offer, can simply watch me play my keyboard (almost self taught) and will instantly find out the right path to take

People with knowledge AND talent can make any instrument sound great ... I remember when I first started studying accordion ... my teacher could do wonders with a little '12 bass' instrument ... If only I had paid closer attention and practised more ... t.
I wouldn't know what to do with a car except sell it. Can't drive and no intention to learn how to. A good pair of hiking shoes would do for me. Have legs so might as well make good use of them.
