It wasn't that much different from the 2000, as others have mentioned. It did have a few new voices. I especially liked the Smooth Guitar, Live Jazz Solo Guitar, Slide Guitar, Live Harmonica. The new Live Piano is brighter than the old one. Only one or two of the new styles would be of any use to me. As George Kaye said, at least the Vocal Harmonizer works properly. They should have done this in an OS upgrade, but IT WOULD MEAN REPLACING A BUNCH OF CHIPS! I really couldn't tell any difference in the overall sound, but I was listening through just the onboard speakers. I'm not excited, but if I didn't have a 2000, it would be great value for the dollar. DonM

Maybe it's me, but didn't Yamaha replace the 2000 fairly quickly? How long was the PSR-740 out before they replaced it with the 2000?

Considering the number of new feature enhancements the PSR2100 has (over the 2000) and that it's not called the PSR3000, or even PSR2500, the model designation seems to make perfect sense. It's basically a PSR2000 plus, yet selling for the same price as the PSR2000, certainly a great sounding keyboard at a terrific value, and well worth considering if you don't already own the PSR2000. Squeak ![](http://www.synthzone.com/ubbs/smile.gif) Yep, the PSR2000 first appeared for sale in the USA in November 2001, so the PSR2000 has only been available here for a little more than a year and a half.
