For any who are interested - I have been corresponding with Sandro Fontanella of Ketron re: the possibility of linking midi-files with arranger play - triggering a pre-recorded passage in sync with the running arranger or sequentially. He is looking at this with a great deal of interest as it offers a way to combine the beautiful (but static quality) of pre-recorded music with the time flexibility of the arranger and timing choice of the musician. One way being considered is to enable one the intros to send a message to access an associatied midi-file -perhaps set up in registration. Another is a direct copy. Both have advantages and parameter matching issues. If anyone has any thoughts on this I would really like to see them and hopefully Ketron will make this a reality.
