After a couple of weeks of being probed (nasty!!!), x-rayed, scanned, etc. I can happily say that the good news is that the bad news ain't that bad ... We've discovered a small prostate tumor (I guess I AM getting old!), but the Docs say we caught it so early it should be an easy fix, and the tests didn't show any other problem areas... It will require surgery ... I had a visit with a specialist at Memorial Sloan - Kettering Hosp in NYC yesterday, and it looks like that it the route I will be taking... Probably late Feb early March ... got to get back in time for golf season!!!
... I want to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, and 'keep 'em comin' ...
BUT GUYS !!! ..... This thing was found through a physical I was having primarily as pre-op for a knee replacement (which now seems as significant as a toothache!!!
)... MAKE SURE YOU'RE GETTING ANNUAL CHECK-UPS that include blood tests of your PSA level, especially over the age of 50 !!! ... If the PSA is over 4 OR makes a jump from one check-up to the other, my advice is see a specialist ... As the Doc said, this thing won't kill me, but it could have developed into something more ...
Make beautiful music, and keep on keepin' on
