Is it possible to use a powered mixer AND powered speakers together? Meaning, can the amplified output from a powered mixer be input to the powered speakers?

Someone wants to sell me Mackie SRM450's at a extrememly reasonable price, but I already use a powered mixer.

Yes, but only if you use the line out of the powered mixer/amp. The standard outputs that would normally go to the speakers would blow the Mackies, while the line out would be the same as the line out from your keyboard.

Gary's right. The powered mixer may need to have two line outs to work properly, and you'd need to be careful to adjust the settings on each powered speaker.

I assume you've checked out the other options...selling the powered mixer and buying a non-powered one, or simply getting a set of un-powered speakers?

Fortunately, my powered mixer (PMX2000 by Behringer) has a line outs, so based on your exellent advice, I can go ahead and look into those Mackies which sound awesome.
