What´s your opinion regarding Mackie HR 824 Studio Monitor, in terms of sounds quality, cost, similar product, etc. Thanks Franky

The Behringer B2031A speakers are almost identicial to the Mackie HR824's. They look like them, have all the same features on the back and in tests done by well known Magazine reviewers came out equal to the Mackies. The price however is not even close....the Behringers are $339.00 per pair. I've been selling these for 3 years and customers love them and how inexpensive they are compared to others.

I have listened to both and have to say that I tend to agree, to the tune of buying a pair of the Mackies, and could not be happier... they saved me the cost of a sub - they are THAT good at the bottom.

If budget IS a concern, then there are a plethora of low-priced monitors out there (try Truth Audio for some amazing U.S.-made monitors) but if you are going to sit in front of a pair on a daily basis, the Mackies rule!

Think ear fatique, ear fatique. I can monitor on my 824's 16 hours a day and the Makies will not hurt my ears. I have used and owned:

JBL 4311's, NS-10's, Fostex 808 ribbons (the real ones, not the junk that Fostex makes today) among others. While they were all pro studio monitors, ear fatiue was a real problem after a few hours. The mackies absolutely uncover everything and translate superbly to other systems.

Personally I think the Event Precision 8s are much better and they're around the same price. The only downside of the Precision 8s are their size -- but if that's not an issue - they are in a whole different league. A - B them against each other in your local samash/guitar center.
